Police investigating postgame incident following Blue Devils loss at ISU

NORMAL, Ill. — An on-court altercation between at least one student each from Quincy High School and Lisle Benet Academy resulted in a police investigation and multiple interviews being conducted as fans milled around Monday night following Benet’s 58-50 victory in the Class 4A Normal Super-Sectional at CEFCU Arena.
After the Blue Devils and the Redwings shook hands, the lead-up to the altercation was shown live on NFHSNetwork.com. The altercation took place out of camera view.
No arrests were made, and a Lisle student was seen leaving the arena with an icebag on his left cheek and chin.
According to Quincy High School athletic director Kristina Klingele, all of the basketball players, cheerleaders and students who were supposed to be on buses following the game made it to those buses and back to Quincy.
Muddy River News will have more on the incident as information becomes available.
