FAME Night on Monday offers students, parents insight into career opportunities in advanced manufacturing

QUINCY — John Wood Community College will be the host of FAME Night from 4 to 6 p.m. on Monday, March 17, at the Workforce Development Center to provide students and parents with information about the Federation for Advanced Manufacturing Education (FAME) program. The event will introduce attendees to hands-on training opportunities, paid work experience and direct connections with industry leaders.
FAME Night offers a chance for students to explore career pathways in advanced manufacturing while engaging with current students, instructors and potential employers. The event will offer:
- Student Perspectives: Current FAME students will share their experiences in the program.
- Employer Connections: Representatives from local manufacturing companies will be available to discuss job opportunities.
- Instructor Guidance: Faculty members will provide insight into hands-on technical training and coursework.
- Paid Work Experience: Attendees will learn how students can earn while they complete their education.
- Q&A Sessions: Students, parents, and guardians can ask questions and receive information directly from program leaders.
- Application Assistance: Guidance will be provided on how to apply and secure a place in the program.
The FAME program, a collaboration between JWCC and regional manufacturers, equips students with industry-specific technical skills, real-world experience and a competitive edge in the workforce.
