Five arrested in connection to Tuesday fire that destroyed main lobby building of Welcome Inn

QUINCY — Four adults and one juvenile were arrested Thursday in connection to a fire that destroyed the main lobby building at the Welcome Inn, 200 Maine.
The Quincy Fire and Police Departments responded to a fire at the Welcome Inn at 2:18 a.m. on Tuesday, March 11. After an investigation, the fire was determined to be incendiary in nature.
Quincy Police detectives and Quincy Fire Department arson investigators processed the crime scene. Detectives canvassed neighboring businesses for video and obtained video of the vehicles involved. Detectives then utilized the Flock license plate reader system to find the vehicles and obtain registration information, which provided the suspects’ names.
Detectives found and brought six people to Quincy Police Department headquarters on March 13. Chase Jones, 19, and Noah Carhoff, 23, of Quincy and K’Lyn Muldrow, 19, of Liberty and a 17-year-old male juvenile from Liberty were arrested for arson after their interviews.
The juvenile was detained at the Adams Juvenile Detention Center. The adults are lodged in the Adams County Jail.
Cole Willer, 19, of Quincy was cited for criminal trespass to a building and released. A sixth person was questioned and released.
Only the main lobby building on the northern edge of the property was damaged by the fire. The three-story building with all of the rooms was not damaged.
