Hannibal woman injured in crash when car loses control on snow-covered bridge Sunday morning

TAYLOR, Mo. — One person was seriously injured in a Sunday morning crash on U.S. 61.
The Missouri State Highway Patrol reported the accident happened at approximately 3:55 a.m. Sunday March 16, on a snow-covered bridge two miles south of Taylor. A 2012 Buick Enclave, driven by a 50-year-old man from Hannibal, was traveling southbound when it lost control on the slick surface, veered off the road, struck a ditch and overturned.
The driver was wearing a seat belt and was uninjured. A 38-year-old woman, also from Hannibal, was a passenger in the vehicle and sustained serious injuries. She was wearing a seat belt at the time of the crash.
Emergency responders from the Marion County Ambulance transported the woman to Blessing Hospital in Quincy, Ill., for treatment.
The Marion County Sheriff’s Department and the Palmyra Fire Department assisted the Missouri State Highway Patrol.
