QUINCY — Step into the unknown with the cast of Quincy Community Theatre’s production of “Ghostlight.”

Performances are April 24-27 in QCT’s Lab Theatre space. Tickets for Lab Theatre productions are general admission, and seating is limited.

From the mind of Stephen Gregg, this spine-tingling mystery follows a group of high school students as they uncover secrets lurking within their prestigious school — where the supernatural feels all too real. As eerie events unfold and reality begins to blur, one question remains: What happens when the lights go out?

The cast is comprised of:

  • Gabby Jones as Gabriela
  • Ava Kaelke as Fantine
  • Julian Holt as Clovis
  • Daxton Holthaus as Jackson
  • Isaac Gosteli as Ruth
  • Arianna Jackson as Riley
  • Helen Smith as Colby
  • Brooks Ruffner as Billiam
  • Emma VanDeVelde as Kelvin
  • Lydia Duesterhaus as Mogpin
  • Cecelia Wayland as Ms. Stauncher
  • Cecilia Bruening as Flachra
  • Sullivan Holthaus as Amicus
  • Abram Hendrian as Tam Tam
  • Reid Westermeyer as Maunder
  • Leah Hammer as Foley Artist

“Ghostlight” is under the direction of Mack Finklea.

“As a former student of Quincy Community Theatre, when I got asked to direct a show here, I was excited just to be coming back to my very first theatre home,” Finklea said in a press release. “But once I had read ‘Ghostlight’ and began to visualize it here, I became truly thrilled to be working on this show.”

QCT’s students are experimenting with live sound effects, audience participation, fourth wall breaks and devised movement to tell this metatheatrical ghost story.

“I can try to entice you to see this show with promises of suspense, plot twists, humor, and the supernatural (all of which are very present in this show), but I think ‘Ghostlight’ sums up its biggest draw perfectly with its closing line: ‘It’s fun to watch people having fun,’” Finklea said.

The production team for Ghostlight is comprised of stage management by JW Crouch and Jessica Crockett, costume design by Jayden Dreyer, scenic design by Harrison Clarke and lighting design by Megan Eaton.

Discovery Night for ‘Ghostlight’ will be held at 6 p.m. Tuesday, April 15, at QCT. The free event will give participants a view into the production process with discussion and Q&A. Immediately following the April 25 performance will be a Q&A talk back session with the cast and crew.

QCT is looking for volunteers to help build the set, scan tickets, usher and more for this production. Visit 1qct.org or call the box office at 217-222-3209 for more information on how to get involved or to learn more.

Quincy Community Theatre’s 2025 season is sponsored by Gardner Denver and Knapheide Manufacturing.
