PARIS, Mo. — A seven-woman, five-man jury will be back in the Monroe County Courthouse Friday morning for a second round of deliberations in the Lyle Miller murder trial.

Miller is accused of the murder of Betty Hayes, whose body was found on a pond on Miller’s property in December 2021.

After two hours of closing arguments Thursday morning, the jury got the case around 11:15 a.m. A little after 4 p.m., Judge Rick Turner said he “didn’t like tired juries” so he was going to tell them if they couldn’t come back with a verdict by 6 p.m., he would send them home for the night to return at 8:30 a.m. Friday.

MRN will have coverage of the verdict and reaction from it once they jury has made its conclusion.
