Bowen joins NTCA Smart Rural Community Network, powered by Adams Fiber

BOWEN, Ill. — Bowen has been officially recognized as an NTCA – The Rural Broadband Association Smart Rural Community, powered by Adams Fiber. This acknowledgment celebrates Bowen’s commitment to leveraging technology and innovation to foster growth, enhance opportunities and build a thriving rural community.
The announcement was made at Bowen’s village board meeting, where representatives from Adams Fiber — Bridgette Northern, director of marketing; Lori Miller, marketing coordinator; and Danielle Flesner, graphic designer — presented the designation. Bowen Mayor Jess Van Beck, who also serves as Adams’ field services manager, joined the team to celebrate this milestone.
The NTCA Smart Rural Community program highlights rural areas across America that have embraced cutting-edge broadband technology to enhance economic development, education, healthcare and overall quality of life.
In a press release, Northern said, “The Smart Rural Community designation is a testament to Bowen’s forward-thinking approach and dedication to investing in its future. Adams Fiber is proud to partner with communities like Bowen to create a lasting impact and opportunities powered by broadband.”
“Being recognized as a Smart Rural Community is an honor for Bowen. This achievement reflects our community’s collaborative spirit, innovation and resilience. We’re excited about the future and the opportunities this milestone will bring our residents and businesses” Beck said.
Bowen will now be featured in national program materials, showcased on the official Smart Rural Community website, www.smartruralcommunity.com.
