Daily Dirt: ‘Wait for your turn, the adults are talking’
We’ve all been in the situation when after meeting certain people we know we’re going to have to put them in their place sooner than later. Today’s Daily Dirt will help the next time that happens. Welcome to the three thoughts that make up Vol. 134:
1. Ever find yourself looking for the perfect comeback when engaged in an argument? Or simply needing a great line to throw at some blowhard? Try these:
- Did it hurt when you fell from heaven? If they ask you why, say: “Cause it looks like you landed on your face!”
- I’ve been called worse things by better people.
- If ignorance is bliss, you must be the happiest person on the planet.
- It is kind of hilarious watching you try to fit your entire vocabulary into one sentence.
- I understand what you’re saying, but if I agreed with you, then we’d both be wrong.
- Were you born on the highway? That is where most accidents happen.
- Wait for your turn. The adults are talking.
- Everyone’s entitled to act stupid once in a while, but you’re really abusing the privilege.
- Not too many people like you, do they?
- Man, no wonder everyone talks about you behind your back.
- You have the right to remain silent, because whatever you say will probably be stupid anyway.

2. Some famous birthdays we should not overlook in the coming days:
- Tina Turner turns 82 on Friday, which I find borderline incredible. The lady can still rock.
- Bo Jackson, one of history’s finest athletes and a star in both the NFL and MLB, will be 59 on Nov. 30. What might he have accomplished if not for that hip injury?
- Clay Aiken, who helped put “American Idol” on the map in its second season, will be 43 on Nov. 30.
And for those no longer with us, but not forgotten:
- William “Billy the Kid” Bonney would have been 162 on Tuesday. Sadly, The Kid died at age 21 in 1881.
- Joe DiMaggio, born on Nov. 25, 1914, died at age 84 in 1999. What’s that you say, Mrs. Robinson? Joltin’ Joe has left and gone away.
- Jimi Hendrix, born on Nov. 27, 1942, left us in 1970 at age 27.
3. If you were watching ESPN’s College GameDay before Saturday’s Ohio State-Michigan State game, you probably noticed the show was originating in the shadow of Ohio Stadium, home of the Buckeyes. That marked the 20th time in the show’s history Ohio State has been a host, the most for any school. Here’s a look at the sites to host GameDay the most:
- 1. Ohio State, 20
- 2. Alabama, 16.
- 3-tie. Florida, 13.
- 3-tie. LSU, 13.
A little SEC top-heavy, you say?
Steve Fact O’ The Day
Steve has rarely waited for his turn, even when the adults were talking.
The list of sites to host ESPN’s College GameDay is a little SEC top-heavy, but did you notice Steve isn’t complaining about the school in the top spot?
