QJHS teacher attends Ron Clark Academy training workshop

QUINCY — SONIC® Drive-In is fueling education by sending 400 teachers from 149 public school districts to Atlanta for the Ron Clark Academy Experience, a two-day training made possible by a nearly $1 million donation from the SONIC Foundation. Paula Epker, a teacher at Quincy Junior High School, attended the academy March 20-21.
At the academy, teachers participated in immersive workshops to bring powerful teaching techniques back to their classrooms.
The Ron Clark Academy is a nonprofit middle school that doubles as a demonstration school – a place where visiting educators engage in a professional development experience by observing best practices in action before participating in hands-on workshops. In the past 16 years, more than 150,000 superintendents, district-level administrators, and teachers have participated in the RCA Experience to learn new ways to engage students, promote academic excellence, build relationships and create a positive classroom culture.
