Larry A. Hoffmann — Hansen-Spear

Larry A. Hoffmann, age 71, of Quincy, died on Saturday, April 5, 2025 at 9:15 p.m. in his home.
Larry was born on September 18, 1953 in St. Claire County, IL, a son of Charles and Arvella Goeglein Hoffmann. On June 18, 2002 he married Theresa Page Cottrell on Kahekili Beach in Maui, HI. She survives.
Larry was a 1971 graduate of Collinsville High School. He had been employed by Burlington Northern Santa Fe Railroad for 23 years as both a conductor and a coal passer.
In his spare time, Larry enjoyed working in his yard and attending shows at Quincy Community Theater, where he was a season ticket holder for many years. Larry was also a sports enthusiast, and he was an avid fan of Saint Louis Cardinals baseball and Illini sports. Most of all, Larry loved traveling with his wife, Theresa, and nothing made him happier than a beautiful beach and a cold glass of Chardonay.
In addition to his wife, survivors include three step children: Travis Cottrell of Des Moines, IA, Tonya (Tim) Dimmitt of Centralia, MO, and Troy (Valerie) Cottrell of North Port, FL; six grandchildren: Paige and Jocelyn Cottrell of Des Moines, IA, Morgan and Cooper Dimmitt of Centralia, MO, and Denver and Aspen Cottrell of North Port, FL; four siblings: Martha Kopka, his identical twin brother, Terry Hoffmann, Roger Hoffmann, and Norman Hoffmann; and numerous nieces, nephews, and cousins.
Larry was preceded in death by his parents and five siblings: Charles Hoffmann, Darlene Starr, Gary Hoffmann, Philip Hoffman, and Paul Hoffman.
Larry was cremated, as per his wishes.
