HANNIBAL, Mo. — Hannibal Regional’s Chaplaincy Corps recognized Allen Clark as its Volunteer Chaplain of the Year for 2024 during the annual chaplains service awards banquet on March 27.

The Hannibal Regional Chaplaincy Corps was formed in 1993 to help patients, families and visitors in a time of need. With more than 30 members, volunteer chaplains donate more than 8,000 hours of service annually.

Allen celebrated his 30th year of serving as a chaplain at Hannibal Regional Hospital in 2024. He has been a member of the Missouri Chaplains Association since 1990, serving on the board for a number of years and as president in 2016 to 2017. He was a local pastor who joined the Corps and eventually was hired and served as the director of pastoral care for many years retiring in 2023.

Allen has continued to serve in a volunteer capacity after retirement. He serves the fourth Tuesday of every month for a 12-hour shift and is willing to cover on-call at other times. He served 169 hours this past year.

David Mardis also was recognized for his 20 years of service.
