Action Brown County launches business signage program to boost visibility, economic vitality in Mount Sterling

MOUNT STERLING, Ill. — Action Brown County (ABC) recently launched the Business Signage Program, a new grant initiative designed to help local businesses enhance their visibility and attract more customers through the installation of custom signage.
The program offers funding for retail, food/drink and experience-based businesses to install blade signs —eye-catching signs that extend perpendicular from storefronts—contributing to the charm and walkability of Mount Sterling’s uptown business district. Businesses outside the uptown area may qualify for alternative signage options tailored to larger properties.
The Business Signage Program builds on the momentum of the successful Façade Improvement Program. It is funded by a grant from the Tracy Family Foundation. There is no set application deadline. Grants will be awarded on a rolling basis until available funds are exhausted.
“This program is all about helping local businesses stand out and thrive,” Alex Geisler, executive director of Action Brown County, said in a press release. “High-quality signage not only improves visibility for individual businesses, but also contributes to the overall experience and appeal of our town. It’s another step in making Mount Sterling a destination worth stopping for.”
