Mount Sterling recognized as Smart Rural Community by NTCA, Adams Fiber

MOUNT STERLING, Ill. — Mount Sterling recently was designated as a Smart Rural Community (SRC) by NTCA–The Rural Broadband Association, powered by Adams Fiber.
This recognition celebrates Mount Sterling’s commitment to harnessing advanced technology to enhance the quality of life for its residents. The announcement was made by Adams board director Tracy Lawson, representing District 2 (Chambersburg, Fishhook and Hersman). Adams team members, Lori Miller, marketing coordinator, and Danielle Flesner, graphic designer, presented the award to Mount Sterling Mayor Matt Bradbury and the City Council.
“This milestone showcases Mount Sterling’s progressive vision of fostering innovation, connectivity and growth,” Miller said in a press release. “Adams Fiber has invested more than $2.44 million in Mount Sterling’s fiber infrastructure, ensuring the city is equipped with future-ready, high-speed connectivity. This vital investment is helping the city elevate education by making online learning more accessible, boosting economic growth by connecting businesses to broader markets and improving healthcare delivery through telehealth services.”
The city will be featured on NTCA’s official Smart Rural Community website and within its outreach materials. Mount Sterling received a Smart Rural Community road sign, a certificate of recognition and marketing resources to amplify this achievement.
