Quincy woman pleads not guilty to all charges in North Bottom Road carjacking/home invasion

QUINCY – The day after a Springfield, Ill. man pleaded not guilty to multiple charges from a home invasion and carjacking along Quincy’s North Bottom Road, a Quincy woman did likewise.

Karen D. Blackledge, 33, entered her plea Wednesday in Adams County Circuit Court. Blackledge was indicted by an Adams County grand jury last week on the following charges:

  • Two counts of home invasion
  • One count of aggravated criminal sexual assault
  • One count of aggravated kidnapping
  • One count of aggravated vehicular hijacking
  • One count of residential burglary

Blackledge and Bradley S. Yohn, 34, were arrested November 10 in Springfield in connection with a Nov. 9 incident. The Adams County Sheriff’s Office reported Yohn allegedly threatened to used force to carjack a vehicle and kidnap an elderly woman, then allegedly forced himself into the woman’s home and assaulted her.

Yohn pleaded not guilty to the same charges Tuesday. His case is also set for January.

Both Yohn and Blackledge’s cases will be on the January jury trial docket. She continues to be held in the Adams County Jail on $5 million bond, while Yohn is on $15 million bond.
