Aaron J. Davis – Hansen-Spear
Aaron J. Davis, age 72, of Quincy, died on Wednesday, July 24, 2024 at 4:29 a.m. in Blessing Hospital.
Aaron was born on December 12, 1951 in Quincy, a son of Albert and Virginia Brooks Davis. On November 13, 1971 he married Geneva Dade in Quincy. She survives.
Aaron was a 1969 graduate of Quincy High School. Professionally, he had been employed by the City of Quincy for 40 years.
Aaron spent his spare time tinkering with arts and crafts, especially with wire frames and diamond art. He also enjoyed being outdoors, whether he was working in his garden or fishing.
Most of all, Aaron will be remembered as a true family man, who cherished every moment he spent with his wife, children, and grandchildren.
In addition to his wife, Geneva, survivors include three daughters: Airica (Lynda) Davis of Palmetto, FL; Kristina (David) Johnson of Quincy; and Erin Davis of Quincy; three grandchildren: DeJia Hankins and Kimora Johnson, both of Quincy, and Justin Walker of Florida; his father, Albert (Geneieve) Davis of Quincy; four siblings: Geraldine Milsap of Quincy; Steven Davis of Quincy; Vickie (Dave) Horton of Kansas City, MO; and Ronnie (Julie) Davis of Peoria, IL; and numerous nieces, nephews, and cousins.
Aaron was preceded in death by his mother, Virginia Davis; his son, Aaron Davis Jr.; three sisters: Janet Hawkins; his twin sister, Sharon Payne; and Mary Davis; and a brother, Albert Davis.
Visitation: 10:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m. on Monday, July 29, 2024 at Hansen-Spear Funeral Home.
Service: 12:00 p.m. on Monday, July 29, 2024 at Hansen-Spear Funeral Home with Rev. Melva Nixon officiating.
Burial: Greenmount Cemetery, Quincy, IL
