Barbara J. “Barb” Reinhart – Duker & Haugh

Barbara J. “Barb” Reinhart, 91, of Quincy, died on Friday, May 16, 2025 in the Emergency Room at Blessing Hospital. She was born on July 26, 1933 in Quincy, IL the daughter of Ralph and Mary (McIntyre) Henke. During childhood, Barb lived in Texas for several years during World War II. She was a graduate of Quincy Notre Dame High School. Barb met the love of her life, Ronald L. “Ron” Reinhart in Vicks Tavern in Quincy when Ron was home on leave from the Navy. She married him on November 26, 1960, at St. Boniface Catholic Church. He preceded her in death.
Barb’s greatest love was her family. She cherished every moment spent with her grandchildren and great grandchildren. She was a long-time member of St. Francis Solanus Catholic Church where she was a member of the Ladies of St. Francis. Barb was also a member of the Knights of Columbus Auxiliary.
After Ron’s retirement, they enjoyed traveling and spent several winters in Arizona.
In her free time Barb enjoyed embroidering, sewing, reading, and dining out with family and friends. Meals at Sprout’s were her favorite. She loved watching the hummingbirds that visited her every summer. Barb participated in league bowling for many years and taught water exercise classes at the local YMCA. She also spent time as a dedicated Girl Scout Leader for many years and made deliveries with Meals on Wheels. Additionally, Barb made and gifted many baby quilts throughout the years.
Although Barb first and foremost considered herself a homemaker, she did hold positions at Hygrade Food Products, Tenk Hardware, Earel & Buss Drugs, Tess (apparel store), and Maid-Rite throughout the years.
Barb is survived by her five children: Joann Jouett of Godfrey, IL; Diann Cole and her husband Ernie of Quincy, Il; Suzann Reinhart of Quincy, IL; Robin Wellman and her husband Dick of Quincy, IL; and Karen Reinhart of St. Louis, MO.
Six grandchildren : Ryan (fiancé Lauren) Jouett; Jacob (Kelly) Jouett; Kenneth Reinhart; Alyssa Cole; Alexandra Ansell and Nathan Ansell.
Two great granddaughters: Violet Reinhart and Dylaneigh Ansell.
A brother: Don (Mary Ann) Henke. Nieces and nephews also survive.
She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, and two sisters Grace Hoffman and Maureen Abraham.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be held of Friday, May 23, 2025 at 11:00 AM at St. Francis Solanus Catholic Church. Inurnment will follow at Calvary Cemetery. Visitation will be held on Friday from 10:00 AM until the time of the Mass at 11:00 AM. at St. Francis Church. Memorials may be made to St. Francis Solanus Catholic Church, Blessing Cancer Center, or Knights of Columbus TV Mass Service. Arrangements are with Duker & Haugh Funeral Home.
