Beth Louise Cress – Hansen-Spear

Beth Louise Cress, of Quincy, age 51, passed away peacefully July 30, 2024 at Blessing Hospital after a long battle with diabetes.

Beth was born on June 20, 1973 to Samuel Freeman and Kathy Webster. On November 25, 1994 she married Jeffrey Cress, who resides in Florida, and from that marriage they had one son, Zachery Cress.

Beth attended Payson Grade School and Seymour High School. She worked on and off at McDonald’s in Quincy and from there made many life-long friends.

Beth’s paternal grandmother, Arlene Hale, adopted Beth and raised her from the time she was 6 years old and gave her a loving life and loved her dearly until her passing at age 99.

Beth loved listening to country music and knew the words to most of the songs that she heard on the radio and was always singing along. She loved shopping at thrift stores especially the Salvation Army where the employees knew her and she made several special friends.

In addition to her husband Jeff Cress of Florida, survivors include her son Zachery Cress of Quincy, a half brother Steven Freeman of Skokie, her Father Samuel Freeman who resides in the Lewis Co. Nursing Home, her Aunt – Carol Rischar-Shaneyfelt and her Uncle Fred Shaneyfelt of Quincy and several cousins.

Visitation: 4:00 to 6:00 p.m. on Wednesday, August 7, 2024 at Hansen-Spear Funeral Home

Memorial Service: 6:00 p.m. on Wednesday, August 7, 2024 at Hansen-Spear Funeral Home with Rev. Jim Dennis officiating.

Private Inurnment: Payson New Cemetery, Payson, IL.
