Bonita Susan ‘Bonnie’ Sparrow — Duker & Haugh

Bonita Susan ‘Bonnie’ Sparrow, 78, of Quincy, IL, died on Wednesday, March 5, 2025, in her home following a courageous battle with cancer.
Bonnie was born on January 2, 1947 in Quincy, the daughter of Roman and Martha (Dinkheller) Klinner. She attended Quincy Notre Dame High School and had previously worked at Artcraft as Quality Control Editor.
Bonnie married Ken Sparrow, Sr. on January 24, 1981. Together, they raised four children. Bonnie cherished her role as a mother and grandmother, finding joy in caring for her grandchildren, creating lasting memories with them. She enjoyed going to her children’s and grandchildren’s sporting events and recitals. Her hobbies included reading, doing puzzles, and gardening. For many years, Bonnie made Sunday dinner for all her children and grandchildren. Those are treasured times for her family.
The family wishes to especially thank two special caregivers that have helped take care of her, Jenna and Keylla.
In addition to her husband Ken, Bonnie is also survived by:
FOUR CHILDREN: Gregory (Mary) Meyer; Kenneth Jr. (Tanya) Sparrow, Jennifer (Michael) Kerker, and Melissa (Matt) Drew.
TWELVE GRANDCHILDREN: Jack Meyer; Lowell Sparrow, Joey Sparrow, Karlie Sparrow, Charlie Sparrow, Kolbie Kerker, Tyler Kerker; Will Drew, Maggie Drew, John Drew, Lily Drew, and Luke Drew.
SISTERS: Sue and Kathy.
Sister in law: Debbie Klinner
Numerous nieces, nephews, and other relatives also survive.
Bonnie was preceded in death by her parents and a brother Robert Klinner.
Funeral services will be held on Monday, March 10, 2025 at 9:30 am in the Duker & Haugh Funeral Home and a Mass of Christian Burial at 10:00 am at St. Francis Catholic Church. Interment in Calvary Cemetery. Visitation will be held on Sunday, March 9, 2025 from 3:00 pm until 6:00 pm at the Duker & Haugh Funeral Home. Memorials may be made to St. Francis Catholic Church or to Quincy Notre Dame. The Duker & Haugh Funeral Home is in charge of the arrangements.
