Bradford Arthur Miracle — Hansen-Spear

Bradford Arthur Miracle of Quincy, Illinois, died Tuesday, February 25, 2025, at 2:12 am in the Illinois Veterans Home.
Brad was born August 15, 1946 in Berea, Ohio, the son of Brady A. and Ruth M. Passauer Miracle.
He married Peggy Lee Brinegar on July 11, 1970, in Fithian, Il. She survives.
Brad was a 1964 graduate of Fork Union Military Academy in Fork Union, Va. He went on to attain his Bachelor of Arts Degree in Social Sciences from Southern Illinois University in Edwardsville, Illinois.
He served in the United States Army. He received an honorable discharge as well as the National Defense Service Medal and attained Sharp Shooter status (rifle).
Brad became a Claims Representative for State Farm. He remained in this position until his retirement in 2004.
He attended The Crossing Church at 48th street in Quincy where he volunteered at the information desk for several years and had many friends.
Brad was very much an outdoorsman. He loved anything to do with the outdoors and nature, he especially enjoyed hunting and fishing as well as restoring the prairie habitat.
Survivors in addition to his wife, Peggy, include two children, Kurt Miracle of Aurora, Il. and Wendy Miracle of Quincy; a sister, Marlene Wilson of Lexington, KY; and his step-mother, Marilyn Miracle of Richmond, KY.
Brad was preceded in death by his parents, a brother, Wayne Miracle, brother-in-law, Joseph Wilson, brother-in-law Gary Brinegar, and a nephew Mathew Perry.
The family would like to express their heartfelt appreciation to the staff in Schaper B in the Illinois Veterans Home, Blessing Hospital and Blessing Hospice for the wonderful care they provided to Brad.
He had many special caregivers during his almost three and a half years at the Illinois Veteran’s Home. The IVH staff in Schaper B are like family. We love them all.
Brad will be remembered for his sharp wit and great sense of humor. He will be greatly missed.
A celebration of life will be held later this spring.
Inurnment will be at Greenmount Cemetery.
