Brian C. Kelty, age 47, of Golden, died on Thursday, June 5, 2025 in Hancock County, Illinois.

He was born on June 7, 1977 in Quincy, Illinois a son of Curtis and Julie Bartelt Kelty. He married Jennifer Ebbing on June 16, 2001 at St. Mary’s Catholic Church in Quincy. She survives.

Brian was a 1996 graduate of Quincy High School, and he received his associates degree from John Wood Community College. He was a journeyman wireman electrician with IBEW Local 34, for the past 17 years.
Brian had a deep love for the outdoors and took pride in working with his hands. A skilled handyman, he found joy in landscaping, gardening and tending to his yard. He enjoyed playing World of Warcraft. Brian was passionate about rock music, and he often spoke of living like a rockstar. He was a dedicated fan of the Chicago Cubs and New York Giants.

Above all, he was devoted to his family and his three beloved dogs, Tug, Snickers, and Nala.

Survivors in addition to his wife, Jennifer, include three children, Bailee Kelty, Ashlyn Kelty and Liam Kelty, all of Golden; his parents, Curtis and Julie Kelty; a sister, Brandy McAnally of Quincy; his father- and mother-in-law, Glen and Becky Ebbing of Quincy; three brothers-in-law, Brian (Nysrene) Ebbing of Boca Raton, FL, Nathan (Kristin) Ebbing of Washington, IL, and Jason (Mary) Ebbing of Kansas City, MO; three nephews, Brady McAnally, Vincent Irving, and Hunter Ebbing; a niece, Lillee Ebbing; an uncle, Tom (Deanna) Kelty of Quincy; an aunt Jenny (David) Meaden of Cumming, GA; a grandfather, Lawrence Ridings of Nokomis, FL; and several cousins.

Brian was preceded in death by his grandparents, Thomas and Mary Ann Kelty, and Donald and Jackie Bartelt.

Visitation: 3:00 to 7:00 pm on Tuesday, June 10, 2025 at the Crossing (48th & Maine Street Campus).

Service: 11:00 am on Wednesday, June 11, 2025 at the Crossing at 48th Street, with Pastor Ethan Sefton officiating.

A private family inurnment will be held at Greenmount Cemetery in Quincy.
