Connie A. Miller — Airsman-Hires Funeral Home

Connie A. Miller, 78, of Quincy, IL, passed away Thursday, July 10, 2025, at White Hall Nursing and Rehabilitation.
She was born Oct. 8, 1946, in Quincy, the daughter of John F. and Gladys (Stanger) Hamann. She married Eric N. Miller at Saint Rose of Lima Catholic Church in Quincy on Feb. 20, 1965, and they celebrated 60 years of marriage together.
She is survived by her husband, Eric of Quincy; son, Eric Miller II (Sheryl); one daughter, Michelle Miller-Froehlich; six grandchildren, Casey, Stephanie (Eann), Eric III, Aaron (Kenzie), Aarika (Ethan) and Lexi; four step-grandchildren, Nicole, Lacy, Tanner and Johnna; one sister, Phyllis (Carl) Martin; and several nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents; one son, Dan Hamann; and two brothers, John and Robert Hamann.
Connie was a dedicated stay-at-home mom who put her children and family first. In the early years on the farm the family shared together, she could be found, canning, gardening, baking and enjoyed taking her children on many daily outings. She had boundless energy and loved staying busy. When her children grew older, she began a career as a floral designer for Hamann Florist and later for Melrose International in Quincy, until her retirement. She was baptized alongside her husband in 1993 at the Church of Christ in Quincy, where she remained an active member. Connie enjoyed trying her hand at many different hobbies throughout her life but her very favorite was always painting, she spent countless hours perfecting clouds. She claimed to be a professional artist, as she had actually sold one of her many paintings, it happened to be the family’s favorite! She loved a good practical joke and always enjoyed surprising and pranking her family but mostly her coworker’s. Connie was an excellent cook and enjoyed trying new recipes but her down home fried chicken was a family favorite. She was an animal lover but especially enjoyed dogs and adopted a few of them from local rescues. In recent years she loved going on rides with her husband and their beloved beagle, CZ. She enjoyed watching HGTV and to her husband’s delight finding a new project for the home! She was not a huge sports fan but was an avid Chicago Cubs baseball fan and enjoyed attending games with family.
Connie was a kind, considerate, loving person who always had a positive attitude. As a five-time cancer survivor, she had a strong will to overcome anything that came her way. Her family and friends will miss her dearly, but knowing she is with her Father in Heaven brings them comfort and peace.
The family would like to thank the entire staff at White Hall Nursing and Rehab, and Nurse Morgan and Chaplain Joel with BJC Hospice for their exceptional care of Connie in her final days.
The family will host a Celebration of Life 11:00 AM Saturday, August 9, 2025, at The Church of Christ, 4321 State Street, Quincy, IL, with a luncheon to follow. Memorial gifts are suggested to Quincy Humane Society. The Airsman-Hires Funeral Home in White Hall is assisting the Miller family. Condolences may be sent online at www.airsman-hires.com.
