Dolores P. Ancell – Hansen-Spear

Dolores P. Ancell, age 89, of Quincy, died on Thursday, June 27, 2024 at 8:18 a.m. in Blessing Hospital.

Dolores was born March 30, 1935 in Cuba, Missouri, the daughter of Eldon and Ella Bland Edgar. She had been married to Charles Britton. She married Richard Ancell on July 3, 1964 in Quincy. He preceded her in death August 19, 2015.

Dolores was employed for many years at Motorola. She then worked for Master Tank, and finished her careers in sales and purchasing at Manchester Tank. Dolores attended The Crossing.

She had been an avid bowler and did exquisite needlework. She and Richard also loved Swing dancing, but her grandchildren were the most precious things in her life.

Survivors include four children: Lois (Tom Mirabito) Britton of Arvada, CO; Bradley (Paula) Britton of Franktown, CO; Laura (Peter) Curran of Quincy, IL; Rand (Suzy) Ancell of Colorado Springs, CO; a daughter-in-law, Doris Ancell, of Las Vegas, NV 14 grandchildren: Renae Besch, Donna Villacorta, Farrah Walton, Jami Seelbinder, Conor Robinson, Stacy Holechek, Kyle Britton, Shelby Britton, Kelly Capozzoli, Jessica Britton, Maxim Luparell, Anna Luparell, Audrey Ancell, and Olive Ancell; 13 great grandchildren; seven sisters: Sharon Carson of Quincy, IL, Marilyn (Terry) Walden of Quincy, Trish (Earl) Wiseman of Payson, IL, Wilma (Tom) Turner, of Sullivan, IN; Ruthi Carson of Quincy, Leah (Larry) Sheaves of Mendota, IL, and Debbi (Curt) VanDiepen of Arizona, and sisters-in-law, Jackie Edgar of Camp Point, IL, and Fay Cox of Quincy and numerous nieces and nephews.

In addition to her parents and husband, Dolores was preceded in death by aa infant granddaughter Corrie Ellen Britton; a stepson, Rich Ancell; two brothers: Harold and Charles Edgar, and a brother-in-law, Robert Carson.

Visitation: 4:00 to 7:00 p.m. on Wednesday, July 3, 2024 at Hansen-Spear Funeral Home.

Services: 9:30 a.m. on Friday, July 5, 2024 at Hansen-Spear Funeral Home, with Pastor Earl Wiseman officiating.

Burial: Sunset Cemetery, Quincy, Illinois
