Donald Lee Mallett – Davis Funeral Home
Mr. Donald Lee Mallett, age 91, of La Grange, MO passed away, Saturday, February 1, 2025 at 7:04 p.m. at Maple Lawn Nursing Home in Palmyra, MO.
He was born February 13, 1933 in Frankford, MO a son of Cecil Leroy and Lula Florence Utterback Mallett. He married Judy Marie Bozarth on May 29, 1960 in Hannibal, MO. She passed away on March 14, 2024.
Don was an avid reader and he liked crossword puzzles and to play pitch with his family. He worked as an environmental sanitarian for 35 plus years beginning in 1960 for local, state, and federal governments, working last with the Missouri Dept. of Aging. Don was very interested in the Navajo Indians and enjoyed reading about their history and customs.
Survivors include his two sons; Doug (Brenda) Mallett of La Grange and Derek (Tasha) Mallett of Oakton, VA; his daughter, Lenae (James) Steele of Canton; six grandchildren, Alex (Evan) Hultz of Palmyra, MO, Wade (Emma) Hultz of Canton, MO, Leah (RJ) Sharpe of Liberty, IL, Drew Mallett of La Grange, Aviaq Nielsen and Annika Mallett both of Oakton VA; seven great grandchildren, Dreighton, Delanie, Zayn, Zander all of Palmyra, Cali of Canton, Nyla and Maggie of Liberty; one sister in law, Barbara Brown of Hannibal, MO; one brother in law, Keith (Marilyn) Bozarth of Houston, TX; and several nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents, wife, daughter in law, Susan Mallett and two sisters Ruth Ella Roberts and Gloria Wucinich, and two brothers in law Kenneth Bozarth and Matthew Bozarth and one sister in law Linda Bozarth.
Funeral services will be held Thursday, February 6, 2025 at 11:00 a.m. at the Davis Funeral Home in La Grange with Doug Mallett officiating. Burial with military honors will be in Riverview Cemetery in La Grange, MO. Visitation will be held Thursday February 6, 2025 at the Davis Funeral Home in La Grange from 9:30 a.m. until time of services.
The family suggests memorials be made to the Maple Lawn Nursing Home in care of Davis Funeral Home, P.O. Box 146, La Grange, MO 63448.
