Edwin Lee Riggs – Bienhoff Funeral Home
Graveside services for Edwin Lee Riggs, 75, of Center, will be at 1:00 PM Saturday, November 2, 2024 at Center Cemetery with pastor Steve Goughnour officiating. Full military honors will be provided by American Legion Post 510.
Funeral services are under the direction of Bienhoff Funeral Home.
Mr. Riggs passed away on October 24, 2024 at his home.
Ed was born August 19, 1949 in Hannibal, the son of Harland Gregory and Patsy Hickerson Riggs.
Survivors include four brothers; Todd Gregory Riggs, Wade Steven Riggs, Mark Travis Riggs and Dane Samuel Rigs, one sister; Ruth Ellen Riggs, one aunt; Rachel Bone, along with nieces, nephews, cousins and a host of friends.
He was preceded in death by his parents, two sisters; Mary Lynn Gutierrez and Sara Catherine Riggs.
Ed was a lifetime area resident and member of Olivet Christian Church. He was a twenty year retiree from the United States Air Force where he obtained the rank of Sargent. Upon returning home Ed obtained his funeral directors license and would assist Bienhoff Funeral Home for over twenty years. Ed was a very skilled organist and could be found every Sunday playing at church. Ed greatly enjoyed the community of Center and will be missed by many.
