Fumiko “Miko” Stuckey – Hansen-Spear

Fumiko “Miko” Stuckey, age 92, of Quincy, entered her heavenly home with the blessed Father, his son Jesus, and the Holy Spirit on May 17, 2025 at 10:05 a.m. at Good Samaritan Home.

She was born November 15, 1932 in Tokyo, Japan, daughter of Tatsuyoshi and Mieko Hashimoto. She married George Stuckey on February 16, 1951 in Tokyo Japan. He preceded her in death.

Fumiko came to America November 16, 1951 and became a citizen of the United States of America on June 10, 1959.

She was a faithful member of Central Baptist Church in Quincy where she served on several positions through the years and loved and enjoyed them all very much.

She was employed at Motorola, Inc. for 20 years and after Motorola left Quincy was employed at Harris Corporation for 27 years until she retired. After retirement she worked for West Central Illinois Area Agency on Aging, Nutrition Project Meals Plus for Seniors as Site Coordinator at Sunset Apartments for 8 ½ years, and also loved to do volunteer work.

She was a very wonderful seamstress and sometimes made her own patterns and designed beautiful items of clothing. She enjoyed crocheting and knitting making beautiful doilies and afghans.

Fumiko loved her friends and enjoyed their company. She looked forward getting together with them and their luncheons and dinners out. She also enjoyed traveling with her friends to Florida, Texas, Nevada, Iowa, Missouri and Hawaii.

She loved her short haired and long haired chihuahuas and two cats and now they are together again forever.

Fumiko is survived by her daughter Shirley Stuckey Dimmitt of Quincy, two sisters, a brother-in-law and nephew in Japan. Special family Melissa and Aaron Lippincott, Joshua and Annessa Lippincott, and Brad Beswick, and her very special and dear friends Sandra Gibbs, Kaye Yates, and Emiko McKenna.

She was preceded in death by her parents.

Miko was cremated, as per her wishes.

Visitation: There will be no visitation, but friends are invited to the graveside service.

Graveside Service: 1:00 p.m. on Friday, May 23, 2025 at Greenmount Cemetery with John Booth and Chaplain Josh Vahle officiating.

Memorials: In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Central Baptist Church of Quincy or the Quincy Humane Society. Memorial donations may be made on line at: https://memorials.hansenspear.com/
