Jack Edward Moore (Jackie) aged 77 of Hannibal, Missouri, passed away on Monday, July 15, 2024 at the University of Missouri Hospital in Columbia, Missouri. Jack was born on September 19, 1946 in Louisiana, Missouri. He is the son of John Calvin and Geneva Beryle (Phillips) Moore.

Jack was married to Vikki Abney and into this union two children were born. He was married to LuAnn Strothoff. His loving companion and travel partner, Leann Brinkman Behymer survives at their home.
Jack graduated from Hannibal High School in 1965. He enlisted in the Army Reserves in Fort Leonard Wood, Missouri on June 20, 1965. His service ended on September 24, 1970.

Jack retired from Prairie Farms Dairy in Quincy, Illinois after spending more than 30 years with the company. He was always proud to be a Union Steward with the Teamsters. After retirement, Jack was a fixture in downtown Hannibal. He hosted numerous festivals, wine and pub crawls, and spent most mornings sipping coffee at Java Jive. Jack is credited for founding the highly successful Twain on Main weekend in downtown Hannibal.

Jack loved coaching his sons in all of their sporting activities and loved watching his grandchildren compete even more. Jack was always the loudest voice in the crowd, often explaining to the officials how to do a better job. You could always count on Jack to be at one of their competitions with a folding chair in one hand, and depending on the time, a drink of some sort in the other.

Jack had an immense passion for traveling later in life. He loved the Northeast, but he lived for going back home to Arkansas. He became quite the wordsmith, writing about his travels and his childhood. His descriptive writing style makes you feel like you were right there with him. Above all, Jack loved his family, he loved life, and was always the life of every party.

Jack is survived by Leann Brinkman Behymer; children, Ed (Hollie) Moore, John (Genevieve) Moore; siblings, twin sister Judy Moore, Don Moore, Mike (Debbie) Moore; sisters-in-law, Terri Moore, Jo Moore, Cynthia Moore; grandchildren, Abby (Nik) Glanz, Colin (Sydney) Moore, Aaron (Adi) Moore, Anna Moore, Evan Moore, Clair (Sean) Gelski; 1 great grandchild, Mia Moore and several nieces and nephews. Jack is preceded in death by his parents, John and Geneva Moore; brothers, Thomas Moore, Jerry Moore, and Richard Moore.
