Jennifer ‘Jenni’ Moran nee Howard born January 26, 1979; (45) of Quincy, formerly of Belleville, IL, passed away on October 19, 2024, after a long two and half year battle against Thymic Cancer. She spent her last days at Blessing Hospital where she received exceptional care from everyone on 6N, the ER and ICU. She also wanted to thank her care team at QMG Cancer Center for their awesome care and compassion. They will always have a special place in our hearts.

She is survived by her phenomenal husband Tom Moran, her remarkable daughter Hadley Moran, and best dog ever Mochi. In addition she is survived by her mother Vicki Howard of Belleville, Il; her mother-in-law Ardith Moran of Beardstown; her sister Sarah Howard of Belleville, Il; her sister-in- law Donna (KD) Givens of Beardstown; her brother-in-law Mark (Tammy) Moran of Sterling, Il; several nieces and nephews whom she adored, Jeremiah, Sophia, Alyssa, Sarah, Tim, Brady, Griffin, and Avery; as well as numerous aunts, uncles, cousins, great nieces, great nephews, and numerous friends who loved her dearly.

She was preceded in death by her father Michael Howard, and father-in-law Don Moran; a niece Abigail, nephew Justin, a cousin Jackson, and both sets of grandparents.

She graduated in 1997 from Althoff Catholic High School, and 2001 from Quincy University where she was extremely active in many clubs and organizations. She loved the town so much she never left. She became a special education teacher at QPS and was in her 24th year of teaching. She moderated several clubs including GSA and Sparkle. She loved her students and wanted them to know; “Hey kiddos, you are important. Your life matters, you are awesome. I am so proud of all of you. Your life has a purpose, and you will get there. You can do hard things, even math. I love each and every one of you and will miss you all.”

Her final request was that the visitation and service be very casual. Do not feel the need to dress up.

Service: 1:00 pm, Saturday, October 26, 2024, at Salem Church, with Rev. Matt Hunt officiating. There will be no burial as Jenni will be cremated per her wishes.
