Joanna Kay Moss – Bienhoff Funeral Home
Funeral services for Joanna Kay Moss, 84, of Perry, will be 11:00 AM, Saturday, October 5, 2024, at the Perry Baptist Church, with Pastor Jason Yancey and Pastor Bob Knight officiating. Burial will follow at Lick Creek Cemetery.
Visitation will be Saturday from 9:00 AM until the time of the service at the church.
Bienhoff Funeral Home is in charge of the arrangements.
Mrs. Moss passed away at 5:49 PM, Monday, September 30, 2024, at the University of Missouri Hospital in Columbia.
Joanna was born on May 29, 1940, in Bowling Green, the daughter of Floyd and Dorothy Dixon Asquith.
She married Eugene Moss on August 30, 1959, in Perry and he preceded her in death on January 30, 1989.
Survivors include one daughter; Deanne (Melvin) Fessler of Salisbury, seven grandchildren; Derrick (Lisa Gale) Moss of Perry, Kayla (Jason) Stevener of Perry, Bradley (Kylie) Moss of Kansas, Matt (Mieke Schotte) Patterson of Columbia, Michael (Madelyn) Patterson of Shelbina, and Amanda and Kaylee Fessler of Salisbury, three great grandchildren; Kensie, Kyndel, and Jace Stevener of Perry, and one brother; Tom (Pam) Asquith of Perry, along with numerous nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her husband, her parents, one son; Del Moss, one daughter; Debbie Patterson, one brother; William Robert Asquith, and one sister; Nancy Goodhart.
Joanna was a lifetime area resident and a member of the Perry Baptist Church. She was a skilled sewer and taught sewing (among other projects) in 4-H for years and was also famous for her homemade Christmas candy. Joanna loved to paint and craft and was always working on a new project. She had a huge heart and a smile that brightened the room whenever she entered it.
Pallbearers will be Cory Seeley, Jamie Mills, Derrick Moss, Bradley Moss, Matt Patterson, and Michael Patterson.
