Joanne Moncofsky, age 80, of Quincy, died Monday, August 5, 2024, at 12:12 pm in Blessing
Hospital.

Joanne was born April 22, 1944 in Bronx, New York, the daughter of Joseph and Margaret Lang
Hendl. She married Joseph Moncofsky on August 24, 1968 in Morristown, NJ. He survives.

Joanne accepted Jesus as her Saviour in 1973 and passed on a legacy of faith to her family through her unwavering love for the Lord. She was a mighty prayer warrior, always putting others before herself. She loved her husband, children, and grandchildren fiercely. She enjoyed baking and cooking for them and always made sure their needs were met before hers. She lived in Hackettstown NJ for most of her adult life where she had many friends which included the infamous Coffee Group and was a part of Emmanuel Bible Church in Hackettstown NJ where she served fervently for the Lord. She and her husband Joe moved to Quincy IL in 2018 to be closer to her son Jason and grandchildren as Jason had lost his first wife Kelly to cancer. She felt God calling them to be there to support and love on her family. It was there in Quincy she became a huge part of her neighborhood and attended Grace Baptist Church where she made everlasting relationships with so many. To the point when she met people who only knew her for a short time you would think they knew her for a lifetime.

Joanne will be remembered as a ray of beaming light always putting others before herself and in constant prayer for her family and friends. On the morning of August 5th when she breathed her last breath, she woke up in Heaven, setting her eyes on the One who she prayed to and talked with every day, her Lord and Saviour Jesus Christ.

In addition to her husband, Joe, survivors include three children: Tami Moncofsky of Littleton,
CO; Pastor Jason (Anna) Moncofsky of Quincy; and Scott (Lynnea) Moncofsky of Bourbonnais,
IL; nine grandchildren: Kailynn Perkins of Littleton, CO; Hadley, Caleb, Lyndsey, Jacob, and
Seth Moncofsky, all of Quincy; and Quynn, Eden, and Lincoln Moncofsky, all of Bourbonnais,
IL; two brothers: Eugene (Carol) Hendl of North Las Vegas, NV; and Gary Hendl of Fletcher,
NC; and numerous nieces, nephews, and cousins.
