John Larry Flowers — Bienhoff Funeral Home
Funeral Services for John Larry Flowers, 83, of Center, will be at 11:00 AM Saturday, August 10, 2024 at Bienhoff Funeral Home in Perry with pastor Dan Peters officiating. Burial will follow in the Lick Creek Cemetery.
Visitation will be from 9:00 AM until the time of the service at the funeral home.
Mr. Flowers passed away on August 7, 2024 at his home.
John was born March 31, 1941 in Hannibal the son of Henry Louis and Laura Mabel Gunn Flowers.
He Married Goldie Bloomfield on July 5, 1963 in Perry and they would share 61 wonderful years of marriage. She survives of the home.
Other survivors include his five children; Larry Flowers of New London, Mary (Lowell) Short of New London, Cameron (Amy) Flowers of Middletown, Tony Flowers of Hannibal, and Scott (Holly) Ross of Perry, six grandchildren; Crystal (Kenny) Lain, Kaitlyn (Travis) Cooper, Mariah Flowers, Shelby Rhodes, Marshall (Emma) Ross, Dalanie Ross, six great grandchildren along with numerous nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
He was preceded in death by one granddaughter Danni Short, seven brothers; Everett, Howard, Russell, Jim (JC), Delbert, Arnold, and Gerald, five sisters; Idell Benn, Frances Hawkinson, Juanita Mahood, Margret Wise, and Fern Miller.
John worked for central stone for many years then for over 24 years as a mechanic for the Missouri Department of Transportation prior to his retirement. In his retirement he would haul rock for many in the area with his dump truck. John was a mechanic that could fix just about anything. He enjoyed horses, traveling and camping in his motor home, and for several years racing his stock car.
Pallbearers will be Kenny Lain, Marshall Ross, Don Hansen, Chris Straube, Dean Power, and Dean Wilson.
