Joyce Frohn — O’Donnell-Cookson Life Celebration Home

Joyce Frohn, 91, of Quincy, passed away at 6:00 am Tuesday, January 21, 2025, at Good Samaritan Home in Quincy, IL.

Joyce was born September 6, 1933, in Pleasant Hill, IL to Harold and Lena (Grisham) Williamson. She was married to Dale H. Frohn on February 28, 1954, in Pleasant Hill, IL. He preceded her in death on March 14, 2018.

Survivors include her three children, Cheryl O’Donnell (Dan) of Quincy, Bradley Frohn of Beverly Hills, MI, and Kimberly Lasek of Coal Valley, IL; nine grandchildren, Shay Obrock (Eric), Erin Adams (Rich), Lacey O’Donnell (Casey Francis), Kaitlin Frohn, Keaton Frohn, Kendall Frohn, Kelsey Frohn, Abbey Lasek, and Chloe Lasek (Colton Sloan); and five great-grandchildren, Cole and Bren Obrock, Archer and Ezra Adams, and Margo Francis.

Joyce was preceded in death by her husband; her parents; one sister, June Martin; one brother, Jim Williamson; one sister in infancy, Betty Lou Williamson; one grandson, Cory Frohn O’Donnell; and one great-granddaughter, Esme Casey Francis.

Joyce graduated from Pleasant Hill High School in 1951. Her pursuit of knowledge led her to Gem City Business School, where she furthered her education. Joyce embraced the role of a homemaker with grace and dedication, creating a warm and loving home for her family.

Joyce’s devotion to her family was matched by her commitment to her faith and community. A long-time member of Luther Memorial Church, she participated in various church activities, touching the lives of many with her kindness and compassion. Joyce also enjoyed socializing with friends at the Spring Lake Country Club and was an avid player of bridge. She was a loyal fan at QHS basketball games and a passionate supporter of the St. Louis Cardinals. Her skills in the kitchen were legendary, especially her baking, which she honed alongside her mother at Lena’s cafe in Pleasant Hill. Winters for Joyce were a time of relaxation and warmth, as she looked forward to spending them in Palmetto, FL.

Friends and Family are invited to a visitation that will be Saturday, January 25, 2025, from 10:00 am to 11:00 am at Luther Memorial Church in Quincy, IL. A funeral ceremony will follow at 11:00 am. Burial will be at Greenmount Cemetery. O’Donnell-Cookson Life Celebration Home is handling the arrangements.

Pallbearers will be Brad Frohn, Keaton Frohn, Eric Obrock, Rich Adams, Casey Francis, and Colton Sloan.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Luther Memorial Church.
