Kenneth “Ken” R. Lohman – O’Donnell-Cookson Life Celebration Home
Kenneth “Ken” R. Lohman, 53, of Quincy, Illinois, passed away on November 20, 2024, at Barnes-Jewish Hospital in St. Louis, Missouri, surrounded by the love of his family. Born on September 27, 1971, Ken was a cherished son, brother, uncle, and friend. He was preceded in death by his parents, Robert “Bob” and Mary Ellen Lohman, and his sister, Carol Lohman, all of whom he deeply missed throughout his life.
Ken is survived by his devoted and loving girlfriend, Diane Moore of Quincy, IL, who brought him happiness and unwavering support. He is also survived by his brothers, Edward J. (Terrie) Lohman of Quincy, IL, and David A. (Tonia) Lohman of St. Louis, MO, with whom he shared a lifetime of close bonds and treasured memories.
Ken was a proud uncle to his nieces, Nicole (Clinton) Hoosier, Morgan (Tyler) Goehl, Jessica (Samuel) Kayser, and Samantha Lohman (Ronnie Warren), all of whom he adored. He welcomed Diane’s children, Mikel (Cheyenne) Wiley, and Ashley Fowler (Chris Hays), into his heart, along with their three grandchildren, and nephew Andy Moore, who brought great joy to his life. Ken also cherished his three great-nieces, who held a special place in his heart.
A 1989 graduate of Quincy Senior High School, Ken’s life was marked by service, hard work, and dedication. He proudly served his country in the United States Army during Desert Storm in the, demonstrating courage and commitment. After his military service, Ken worked in construction and truck driving, where his integrity earned respect.
Ken was a lover of life’s simple pleasures. He found peace and joy in gardening. A devoted fan of the St. Louis Blues and St. Louis Cardinals, Ken never missed the chance to cheer on his favorite teams. His warmth, loyalty, and gentle spirit endeared him to everyone he met, leaving a legacy of love and kindness.
A visitation will be held on Friday, November 29, 2024, at 10:00 a.m. at St. Anthony of Padua Catholic Church in Quincy, IL, followed by a funeral service at 11:00 a.m. Ken will be laid to rest with military honors at Calvary Cemetery.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to St Anthonys Ladies Society or Fishing for Freedom, honoring Ken’s love for helping others and his passion for the outdoors.
Ken’s memory will live on in the hearts of those who loved him. His legacy is one of love, devotion, and a life well-lived.
