Kenneth P. Sparrow, Sr., age 72, of Quincy, died on Tuesday, April 1, 2025 in his home. He was born on April 13, 1952 in Quincy, the son of Elmer and Florine (Altgilbers) Sparrow. He married Bonnie Klinner on January 24, 1981. She preceded him in death on March 5, 2025. Together, Ken and Bonnie raised four children.

Ken worked at Heintz Electric for 47 years, where he was involved in Sales and Quotes. His knowledge of the lighting industry was well known throughout the Midwest. He also was an Alderman for Quincy’s Seventh Ward for 8 years where he was active on several key City of Quincy committees. He also enjoyed working part time in his retirement at Area Distributors, where he worked with several family members and made many friends.

Ken found great joy in being a father and grandfather. He frequently attended his grandchildren’s sporting events and concerts. Ken was known for being the “jack of all trades” and helped countless family members with their renovations over the years. He often ate lunch at Mr. Bills, knowing some of his 10 siblings would also be there.

While we lost our beloved dad, many have lost a friend and loved one. Ken has been a rock to many and would always be by your side if you needed him.
