Kringle Joyce Lindsey — Duker & Haugh

Kringle Joyce Lindsey, age 68, of Quincy, died peacefully on Tuesday, March 4, 2025 in her home, surrounded by family. Kringle was born at 3:42 AM on Sunday, the 4th of November 1956 in Redwood City, California. She married Steven Darrell Lindsey on July 14th, 1984 in Mt. Sterling, IL. He survives.

Kringle attended Highland Riverside Elementary School and Quincy Junior High School. She then graduated from Marysville High School in Marysville, California in 1974. Kringle went on to study at John Wood Community College and East Central College in Union, Missouri, where she received her associate degree and made the Dean’s List. She received her Surgical Instrument and Central Service Technician Certification from Purdue University. She completed and received full CDL endorsements from the JWCC transportation and public safety program in 1997. Kringle also attended and received numerous certifications in medical and business technology. She received her Nursing Assistant Certification from the Barry Community Care Center Training Program. She also proudly completed the National Aquatic Safety Program at Austin Texas. Kringle became employed at the Illinois Veterans Home in 2016, which she fondly remembered as the Soldiers and Sailors Home. She worked for 5 years in the Dietary Department and later transferred to the Business Office as the Quincy Benefit Funds Associate. Kringle loved living next to the Illinois Veterans Home and was very patriotic for the veterans and her country. She had previously been employed by Blessing Hospital.

Most proudly and more than any other pastime, Kringle enjoyed time spent with her grandsons, watching movies, making slip-n-slides, building lemonade stands, yard sales, foot races, haunted houses, camping, and reminiscing over old family photos. She loved the Lord, enjoyed attending Madison Park Church, where she was baptized. She also liked music, dancing, bowling, gardening, swimming and spending time with family and friends. She had a great sense of humor. She was an active member of the South Side Boat Club where there are beautiful sunsets. She was a supporter of the Leatherneck Motorcycle Club and a member of the Leatherneck Ladies Sisterhood. Kringle was also a 10 year volunteer for the Marine Corps Reserve Toys for Tots Program. She was a fan of the St. Louis Cardinals, the Kansas City Chiefs and the NASCAR driver Jeff Gordon. Her favorite movie was the Wizard of Oz.

Kringle herself wanted to say ‘THANKS TO ALL MY FAMILY AND FRIENDS WHO MADE SURE MY FINAL DAYS WERE THE MOST SPOILED I HAVE EVER BEEN IN MY ENTIRE LIFE.

In addition to her husband, Kringle is also survived by: A DAUGHTER Candace Charlene Puff of Albuquerque, NM
GRANDCHILDREN: Tristan Miller, Quentin Cookson, Austin Cookson and Dawson Cookson.
GREAT-GRANDCHILD: Bowie Miller
SIBLINGS: Criss Wade Brown, Frances Elaine Cookson,
Half-Siblings: Richard Warren Brown and Debbie Burwinkle
Step-Sibling: Mike (Debbie) Bigger. Numerous nieces, nephews and other relatives also survive.

She was preceded in death by her mother: Darlene June Bigger along with her husband Rubin, her father Warren Herman Brown, a daughter Cristy Puff, brothers in law: Tom Cookson and Tim Lindsey a half sister: Paulette Rumble and a step-sister: Linda Fleming.

Funeral services will be held on Monday, March 10, 2025 at 1:00 PM in the Duker & Haugh Funeral Home. Interment in Greenmount Cemetery. Visitation will be held on Monday from 12:00 Noon until the time of the services at 1:00. Memorials may be made to Camp Callahan for Physically and mentally disabled children and adults in memory of Kringle’s sister Paulette born with Cerebral Palsy or to the Jacksonville School for the Deaf in honor of her brother Criss Brown who was born deaf and attended the School. The Duker & Haugh Funeral Home is in charge of the arrangements.
