Leota Delores Blacketer
Leota Delores Blacketer, 91, of Quincy, passed away at 5:25 am Saturday, July 13, 2024, at Curtis Creek Senior Living Center. She was born February 9, 1933, near Rockport, IL to Thomas E. and Lula (Hardy) Blacketer.
She graduated from Pittsfield High School Class of 1950.
Delores worked most of her life in various office positions including Brower Mf. Company and Quincy Medical Group, retiring from Quincy Medical Group.
Delores loved reading, crafts, her computer, cards, traveling, lunch with friends, and volunteer work. She had a strong love for Jesus Christ and was a devoted Christian for many years.
Delores spent the majority of her retirement just outside of Quincy where she enjoyed gardening, sharing her faith, and forming lasting friendships with those she met along the way. She was kind, generous, and a true servant of Christ.
Survivors include two daughters, Kathleen Fitch (Larry) of Rockport, and Carolyn Cassady (Mike) of Quincy; and one son, Robert Sigler (Kim) of Barry; and several grandchildren, great-grandchildren, and many nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by one son, David Sigler; three sisters, Lucy Hoskins (Eugene), Marjorie Garner (Milton), and Evelyn Garner (Lloyd); and two brothers, William Blacketer (Marjorie) and Earl Eugene Blacketer (Rhoda).
A private burial is planned at Samuel Taylor Cemetery near Rockport, IL.
