Linda Hasting — O’Donnell-Cookson Life Celebration Home

Linda Hasting, 66, of Quincy, passed away at 1:02 pm Saturday, June 15, 2024, at Barnes Jewish Hospital in Saint Louis, MO.

Linda was born November 4, 1957, in Quincy, IL to James and Bonnie (Rankin) Hasting.

Survivors include her son, Ryan Hasting (Stephanie); three grandchildren, Draven Hasting, Delilah Hasting, and Deric Lambert; one brother, David Hasting; and one sister, Christina Schroder.

Linda was preceded in death by her father, James Hasting; her mother, Bonnie Exline; her step-father, Bob Exline; three brothers, Terry, Randy, and Kevin Hasting; two sisters, Diana and Kathy Hasting; paternal grandparents, Walter and Edith Hasting; maternal grandparents, Francis and Violet Longcor Rankin Hardy; and sister in-law, Judy Hasting.

Linda worked as a manager at the gaming parlor, The Rabbit Hole.

Linda’s interests were as diverse as they were passionate. She had a love for playing slots, which was matched only by her enthusiasm for shopping for shoes, purses, and decorations. Linda had an eye for style and took great pleasure in decorating her home for every holiday, creating a festive and welcoming atmosphere for all who visited.

Family trips were a source of great joy for Linda, with Orange Beach, AL, Orlando, FL, and Pigeon Forge, TN holding special places in her heart as destinations of memorable adventures. Her culinary skills shone in the kitchen, where she enjoyed cooking and was particularly fond of baking sweet treats for her loved ones. Linda’s generosity and love were most evident in the time she spent with her family, especially her cherished grandchildren, who will carry the sweetness of her baking and the warmth of her love with them always.

Linda’s life was a testament to the power of love, family, and friendship, and she will be remembered for her bright smile, her generous heart, and the unwavering love she had for her family.

Friends and Family are invited to Linda’s Life Celebration at a visitation that will be Saturday, June 22, 2024, from 10:00 am to 12:00 pm at O’Donnell-Cookson Life Celebration Home in Quincy. A Graveside Service will follow at 12:00 pm at Greenmount Cemetery in Quincy, with Pastor Tim Dougherty officiating.

Pallbearers will be Ryan Hasting, David Hasting, Alex Hasting, Shawn Hasting, Deric Lambert, Phil Lambert, Rodney Conner, and Jeremy Smith.

Memorial contributions may be made to the family to help with expenses.
