Mark C. Klingler, 67, of Quincy, passed away at 8:10 am Tuesday, April 9, 2024, at Blessing Hospital in Quincy, IL.

Born to Wilfred “Bill” and Nadine (Disselhorst) Klingler, Mark was a cherished sibling to his sister, Carol Klingler of Ocala, FL. He held a special place in his heart for his aunt, Ruth Disselhorst, and leaves behind a legacy cherished by numerous aunts, uncles, and cousins. Mark was preceded in death by his dear parents and grandparents.

A graduate of Quincy High School in 1975, Mark was a pillar of the community, leveraging his hardworking spirit into a successful career. He proudly owned and maintained several apartment buildings in the area and had previously worked for Lloyd Disselhorst Inc. at Massey Ferguson.

Mark’s life was a tapestry of diverse interests and accomplishments. His prowess in tractor pulling was a sight to behold at the Adams Fair, where he clinched many 1st place prizes. His passion extended to the pool table, where his skill led him to a national award. He had an enduring love for old cars, particularly his Chevrolet Chevelle, and was an avid fan of the Chicago Bears. Mark found solace in rock music, especially the tunes of his favorite band, R.E.M.

His love for driving matched his enthusiasm for travel, always ready for a new adventure. He cherished the times when he could gather with friends for a leisurely lunch. Mark’s zest for life and the joy he shared will be deeply missed by all who knew him.

Friends and family are invited to Mark’s Life Celebration at a visitation that will be Monday, April 15, 2024, from 4:00 pm to 6:00 pm at O’Donnell-Cookson Life Celebration Home in Quincy, IL.

A funeral ceremony will be at 10:00 am Tuesday, April 16, 2024, at the O’Donnell-Cookson Life Celebration Home in Quincy. Rev. Tim Woodard will officiate. Burial will follow at Greenmount Cemetery in Quincy, IL.

Pallbearers will be Randy Riley, Cliff Bigelow, Steve Disselhorst, Bruce Helmreich, Scott Disselhorst, and Michael Disselhorst.

Memorial contributions may be made to the American Diabetes Association.
