Mark K. Sibbing – Hansen-Spear

Mark Kent Sibbing, age 75, of Quincy, died on Sunday, March 30, 2025 at 7:02 pm, after a short stay at Quincy Healthcare and Senior Living.
Mark was born on July 16, 1949, a son of Earl Phillip and Rosalie Jansen Sibbing. On March 3, 1972, he married Mary Ann Jennings in Quincy. She survives.
He was a graduate of Seymour High School in Payson, Illinois. He served in the United States Navy from March 24, 1968 until December 13, 1969, most of that time spent at sea on the USS Yorktown, an Essex-class aircraft carrier.
Mark worked at Gardner Denver for 17 years before transitioning to a mail and delivery role at Quincy Medical Group, where he worked for 20 years, until his retirement. He enjoyed his time at Quincy Medical Group, especially for all the people he got to see and interact with daily.
Mark was a family man who had a calm presence, a cheerful demeanor, and a knack for telling great jokes. He never missed a ballgame or swim meet when his children were growing up. He loved to travel, and looking back, his favorite trips were the family trips when his children were young.
An avid deer hunter and fisherman, Mark was also skilled at tinkering and always had a project or task he was working on. If a project or task stumped him, Mark would figure out a way to accomplish it.
