Friends and Family are invited to Mark’s Life Celebration at a visitation that will be Thursday, August 29, 2024, from 10:00 am to 11:00 am at O’Donnell-Cookson Life Celebration Home in Quincy, IL. A Funeral Ceremony will directly follow at 11:00 am with Dr. Tom Dickerson officiating. Burial will follow at Greenmount Cemetery in Quincy, IL.

Mark was born February 28, 1974, in Quincy, IL to Dean and Pearl “Jean” (Beaston) Steinkamp. They survive.

Other survivors include his siblings, Steven Steinkamp (Eva) and Deanna Romans (Bill).

Mark was preceded in death by his aunt, Peggy Mayfield.

Mark was a man of many interests, each reflecting his zest for life and his love for his community. An avid attendee of Transitions of Western Illinois’ events, he adored participating in their offerings. He took great pleasure in the melodies and gatherings at the Blues in the District and relished the shared moments during Picnics in the Park. A fan of action and adventure, Mark could often be found watching his favorite hero, Chuck Norris, in “Walker, Texas Ranger.” His enthusiasm for the show was matched only by his love for family gatherings. Mark looked forward to McDonald’s dates with his loved ones, where they shared meals and moments that became cherished traditions. Mark’s light and love touched many, and he will be sorely missed by all who had the honor of knowing him.

Pallbearers will be Don Mayfield, Brad Hankins, Scott Mayfield, Bill Trenter, Brandon Romans, and Kyle Liggett.
