Martha Jo Fuller — Hansen-Spear

Fuller-Martha

Martha “Jo” Fuller, age 75, of Quincy, died on Wednesday, July 23, 2025 in her home.

Jo was born April 16, 1950 in Quincy, Illinois, the daughter of Arthur W. and Roberta E. Leckbee White. She married Terry Fuller on October 19, 1985 in Lighthouse Baptist Church, in Quincy. He survives.

Jo was born and raised in Quincy, attending Emerson Elementary, Quincy Junior High School, and graduated from Quincy High School in 1968. She worked at Moorman Manufacturing for three years. Jo ventured out west to seek her fortune in Arizona, then California. She eventually made her way back to Quincy, for a short time before moving to Moline, IL. She spent her six years there working at Bituminous Insurance. She also attended Blackhawk College in Moline. Not being one to stay in one place for long, Jo went to live a short time in South Carolina, where she attended Bob Jones University. As many of us do, Jo eventually returned to Quincy for good, her adventures away from home complete. She rejoined the workforce at Moorman Manufacturing for the next 10 years, worked five years as a medical transcriptionist at Quincy Medical Group, then three more years at Moorman’s. Jo went on to work three years as a mortgage processor at First Bankers Trust. In 2003, Jo went to work as an Administrative Assistant at Blessing Cancer Center; a position she held until her retirement in 2023.

Jo grew up in Immanuel Baptist Church and became a charter member of Lighthouse Baptist Church. She and Terry are 30 year members of Madison Park Christian Church. Jo loved music of all sorts and was a talented pianist. She had a wonderful singing voice which she loved to share with others, singing in the choir at each church she had attended. She is joyfully awaiting to be in God’s choir! The Fullers are past members of the Plainville Lions Club. They also enjoyed camping. In her spare time Jo loved to sew and crochet, but loved crafting of all kinds. She was a wonderful and loving wife, mother, and grandmother. She will live on in the hearts and minds of all who knew her.

In addition to her husband, Terry, Jo is survived by: three step children: Terry W. (Sherri) Fuller, Jr. of Ursa, IL, Jennifer L. (Brian) Burner of Fowler, IL, and Kyle R. (Holly) Fuller of Tampa, FL; 10 grandchildren, Jordan (Samantha) Fuller, Lindsey Fuller, Parker Fuller, Kayla Fuller, Janelle (Thomas) Healy, Sean Burner, Elizabeth Burner, Elijah Fuller, Ethan Fuller, and Evan Fuller; four great grandchildren, Nora Fuller, Marie Fuller, Vincent Terstriep, and Vivian Terstriep; a brother, Dr. Alan (Katie) White; two sisters, Marcia (Ren) Scharnhorst, and Sandy Dietsch; and a special canine friend, Pappi.

Jo was preceded in death by: her parents, Arthur and Roberta White; and her sister, Arlene (Earl) Calaway.
