Mary Ann (Lieb) Kuh, 76, of Quincy, IL passed away peacefully on September 23, 2024, in Peoria, IL surrounded by family and friends. During her life Mary Ann displayed her strength and stubbornness by successfully beating breast cancer, uterine cancer and managing heart and major back issues. Up until the end she continued to fight sepsis, heart issues, kidney failure and coding, but met her match with a pancreatic abscess.

She was born June 8, 1948, in Chicago, IL to Clarence and Lucille McDonald Lieb. Her parents and sister, Dolores Contant preceded her in death.

She married Robert J. Kuh on October 15, 1988, in Topeka, KS; he survives. She is also survived by her daughter, Laura Hoke; stepchildren, Heather (Donovan) Jackson, Jason (Marie) Kuh; grandchildren, Mariah, London, Maura, Miranda, Katie, Hunter; many great-grandchildren; siblings, Patricia (Paul) Krok, John “Jack” (Mary Therese) Lieb and many nieces and nephews.

Throughout the years, Mary Ann and Bob spent time in many different locations (Oak Lawn, Worth, Manteno, Fort Myers, Orlando, Branson, Quincy) as well as travelling throughout the world. They even owned a travel agency, Cal’s Custom Cruises in addition to their restaurant, Cal’s Roast Beef.

Back before remote working was a thing, Mary Ann worked at home and was the supervisor for 18 work at home employees for Peterson Electro Musical. Many a circuit board was stuffed and wires clipped by Mary Ann.

Although watching televised sports were NOT her thing, Mary Ann spent many years in the bleachers and on the softball field, cheering. When the future of the school sports program was in jeopardy, she even organized a group of moms to run a concession stand to keep sports alive and well in Oak Lawn. A challenge was something she never backed down from.

One of her favorite past times, besides cooking, was playing cards with friends and family. Her game of choice was hand, knee and foot. Mary Ann also enjoyed shopping for bargains, garage sales, decorating and crafting.

Mary Ann loved her family, and she will be greatly missed.

We would like to extend many thanks to the staff of Blessing Hospital, OSF St Francis, Peoria and the OSF Family House for all the care and support.
