Patricia Ann Winters – Hansen-Spear
Patricia Ann “Pat” Winters, age 89, of Quincy, died on Saturday, January 4, 2025 in the Illinois Veterans Home, Quincy, Illinois.
Pat was born on January 30, 1935, in Quincy, Illinois, a daughter of Arthur Lawrence and Myrtle Ruth Harwood Treaster. She married Robert “Bob” Winters on December 21, 1955 in Quincy, Illinois. He preceded her in death on December 23, 2019.
She was a 1953 graduate of Quincy Senior High School. As a teenager, she worked at Underbrink’s Bakery. She was employed at S.S. Kresge’s on Maine Street, before her marriage.
Pat stayed at home to raise her children. Pat was very active in the PTA while her children were in school. She was a past president of the Jackson School PTA and served as a Brownie Troop leader.
She had the heart of a caregiver and was devoted to her family. As her aunts aged, she was their transportation and loved playing cards and caring for them. When her children were grown, she remained a steadfast rock for her family. Pat loved caring for and spending time with her grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
Survivors include three children, Michael (Nancy) Winters of Maynardville, TN, Michele Alger of Springfield, IL, and Chris (Sherri) Winters of Chatham, IL; 11 grandchildren; 18 great-grandchildren; and three great-great-grandchildren.
In addition to her husband, Bob, she was preceded in death by her parents, a son, Timothy Winters, three grandchildren, Jeremy Rae Winters, Jeffrey David Winters, and Shannon Marie Dye; and her brother, Robert Treaster.
Visitation: 10:00 am to 12:00 pm on Friday, January 10, 2025 at the Hansen-Spear Funeral Home in Quincy, Illinois.
Service: 12:00 pm on Friday, January, 10, 2025 at the Hansen-Spear Funeral Home, with Dr. Michael Bukstein officiating.
Burial: Valley of Peace, Quincy, Illinois
