Richard Lee “Dick” Reichert — Hansen-Spear

Richard Lee “Dick” Reichert, age 85, of Quincy, died on Thursday, May 8, 2025 at 12:28 am in his home.
Dick was born on March 26, 1940, in Quincy, Illinois, a son of Alfred C. and Rose Fries Reichert. He married Joann Meyer on June 29, 1963 at Our Redeemer Lutheran Church in Quincy. She survives.
He was a 1958 graduate of Quincy High School. Dick was employed in purchasing at Gardner Denver, a production manager at Motorola, and finished his career in human resources at MicroEnergy.
Dick was an excellent baseball player, who played third base for the traveling team at Motorola. He has a passion for baseball and it occupied a large part of his life. He was an avid St. Louis Cardinals fan and saw many games at Sportsman’s Park and Busch Stadium. Dick was also an avid bowler, who spent many years bowling in leagues at the Tangerine Bowl. After his retirement, he enjoyed playing golf multiple times a week. He achieved two holes-in-one over the years.
When he was not playing baseball, bowling or golfing, Dick enjoyed fishing and spending time at his river camp. Above all, he cherished time spent with his family, especially his grandchildren. Dick always enjoyed family vacations and road trips, and he and Joann like spending part of the winter in Florida.
Dick was a QHS Blue Devil Basketball fan, an active member of the Quincy Jaycees, and a long-time and active member of Our Redeemer Lutheran Church.
Survivors, in addition to his wife of 61 years, Joann, include two sons, Todd (Tina) Reichert of Maywood, MO, and Tim (Stacey) Reichert of Quincy; two grandchildren, Jared Reichert and Kelsey (Ian) Jones, both of Quincy; a great-granddaughter, Jacqueline Jones; a brother, Donald Reichert of Tarpon Springs, FL; a sister-in-law, Joanne Meyer of Elgin, IL; and nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents, a brother, Alfred C. (Margie) Reichert, two sisters, Dorothy (Lester) DeWitt and Naomi (Art) Myers, and his father-in-law, Harold Meyer, his mother-in-law, Betty (Bill) Meyer Stormer, a brother-in-law, Gregory Meyer, and a sister-in-law, Kate Reichert.
Visitation: 10:00 to 11:00 am on Tuesday, May 13, 2025 at Our Redeemer Lutheran Church.
Memorial Service: 11:00 am on Tuesday, May 13, 2025 at Our Redeemer Lutheran Church, with Rev. Martin Eden officiating.
