Robert “Bob” Elliott – Hansen-Spear

Robert Lee “Bob” Elliott, age 92, of Quincy, died on April 9, 2025 at 12:01 pm in Blessing Hospital.
He was born July 6, 1932 in Marion, Illinois the son of Guy A. and Thetis I. Sinks Elliott. On May 20, 2000 he married Nancy G. Parke in Quincy, IL. She survives.
A graduate of Quincy High School, Bob received his B.S. degree from Iowa State College, now Iowa State University. He served in the U.S. Army-Artillery for 2 years and retired as a 1st Lt. He owned the Modern Dairy and was a past member of Luther Memorial Church where he served as President, Treasurer and Business Manager. He was a current member of Vermont Street United Methodist Church. He was a Boy Scout Scoutmaster for 10 years for Troop #47. He was a member of Downtown Quincy Rotary for over 60 years where he was a past president and Paul Harris Fellow. He enjoyed woodworking and making special gifts for family and friends.
Survivors in addition to his wife, Nancy, include two children, Wendy (Stephen) Sutherland of Germantown Hills, IL, and Drew Elliott of Boston,GA; five grandchildren, Shelby (Trent) Passwater, Kelley Mathews, Ian (Kadé) Sutherland, Travis Elliott and Paige (Will) Steele; three great-grandchildren, Josie and Rylee Passwater and Elliott Mathews; four step-children, John (Donna) Parke and Lori (Steve) Beyer, both of Quincy, Evan Parke of Saudi Arabia, and Dean (Liza) Parke of Lake Zurich, IL; nine step-grandchildren, Jacob (fiancé Hannah) Parke, Blake Parke, Alex Post, Lauren Post, Claire Post, Nathaniel Parke, Nadia Parke, Bode Parke and Austin Parke; and a cousin who was like a sister, Cheryl Richardson of Boston, GA.
He was preceded in death by his parents and a son, Christopher.
Visitation: 9:00 to 11:00 am on Thursday, April 17, 2025 at the Hansen-Spear Funeral Home.
Services: 11:00 am on Thursday, April 17, 2025 at the Hansen-Spear Funeral Home, with Rev. Steve Disseler officiating.
Burial: Greenmount Cemetery, Quincy, Illinois
