Ronald Arthur Westhaus – Duker & Haugh
Ronald Arthur Westhaus, age 89, of the Bradford Villa, formerly of Lakeshore Hills, died on Thursday, January 30, 2025 in Blessing Hospital. He was born on August 19, 1935 in Quincy, IL the son of Arthur and Freda (Maas) Westhaus.
Ron farmed most of his life. Ron ran a Star Route mail delivery route after retiring from farming. Ron served in the United States Army from 1958 to 1960 and did a 13 month tour in Korea.
Ron liked to play cards, Old Western movies, game shows and in his younger years, enjoyed hunting.
Ron is survived by:
SIBLINGS: Arlene Goehl and Jerry Westhaus along with his wife Cheryl.
BROTHER IN LAW: Roy Vonderheide.
NIECES AND NEPHEWS: Greg Vonderheide, Cheryl Shultz, Cathy Hultz along with her husband Ron, Peggy Pulliam along with her husband Brian, Barb Woodyard along with her husband Danny, Pam Pillars along with her husband Mike, Amy Goehl, Stacy Schutte along with her husband Brad and Scott Westhaus along with his wife Kate.
Numerous great-nieces, great-nephews, cousins and other relatives survive.
Ron was preceded in death by his parents, a sister Joan Vonderheide, a brother in law Lloyd Goehl and a nephew Mark Goehl.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Monday, February 3, 2025 at 11:00 AM in St. Joseph Catholic Church. Interment in Calvary Cemetery. Visitation will be held at St. Joseph Catholic Church on Monday from 10:00 AM until the time of the Mass at 11:00. Memorials may be made to the Mark Lloyd Goehl Memorial Scholarship at JWCC. The Duker & Haugh Funeral Home is in charge of the arrangements.
