Ross Aldo Loos — Hansen-Spear

Ross Aldo Loos, age 86, of Quincy, died on Thursday, March 27, 2025 at 9:59 am in the Good Samaritan Home.
He was born on May 15, 1938, in Quincy, Illinois, a son of Roger William and Leota Clearine Daniel Loos. Ross married Sandra “Sandy” Osterman on December 28,1962 in Zion Lutheran Church, in Liberty, Illinois. She survives.
Ross graduated from Seymour High School in Payson, Illinois. After high school, he served in the United States Navy Reserve before being called to active service on January 31, 1958. Ross spent over a year at sea during his time in the Navy and was honorably discharged from active duty on December 19, 1959.
A lifelong farmer in Adams County, Ross was a member of the Adams County Farm Bureau. He was a very active member of Bluff Hall Church all of his life, and served in many roles throughout the years.
Ross loved his family and enjoyed attending his grandsons activities including musical performances, basketball and baseball games. He enjoyed fishing.
Survivors, in addition to his wife, Sandy, include three children; Scott Loos of Pana, IL, Sara Schwab of Springfield, IL, and Steven (Krisann) Loos of Quincy; four grandsons; Lance (fiancé Mandy Thompson) Loos and Lucas (Jairyn Hinthorne) Loos, both of Quincy, Kyle Schwab of Carbondale, IL, and Ryan Schwab of Okawville, IL; a step-grandson, Tyler (Meagen) Shelton of Jackson, MO; a step-great-granddaughter, Kami Shelton; a brother-in-law, Michael (Debbie) Osterman; four sisters-in-law, Lynn Loos, Karen (Jim) Daugherty, Carol (Steve) Eicken, and Cathy (Roger) Prunty; and numerous nieces and nephews.
Ross was preceded in death by his parents, a brother Dale R. Loos, a sister, Doris Shriver, and a sister-in-law, Janice Hamilton.
Visitation: 2:00 to 5:00 pm on Sunday, March 30, 2025 at the Hansen-Spear Funeral Home.
Service: 10:00 am on Monday, March 31, 2025 at the Hansen-Spear Funeral Home, with Rev. Richard Moore officiating.
Burial: Bluff Hall Cemetery, Payson, Illinois with full military honors conducted by the United State Navy Funeral Honors Detail and the Payson VFW.
