Sally B. McChristy — Hansen-Spear
Sally B. McChristy, age 101, of Quincy, died on Tuesday, May 13, 2025 at 7:30 p.m. in Sunset Home.
Sally was born on January 10, 1924 in Lewistown, MO, the daughter of Horner and Grace Garrett Haines. On September 15, 1944 she married Alvin “Ted” McChristy in Kirksville, MO. He preceded her in death on January 15, 2012.
Sally was the last surviving graduate of Lewistown High School Class of 1942. Sally spent her time taking care of her home and her family while Ted ran the family business, McChristy Electrical Service.
In her spare time, Sally found joy in gardening, a round of golf, or time spent sewing. She and Ted were longtime members of the Eagles Club and rarely missed a Blue Devil Basketball game. Her kitchen was the heart of many holidays, where she prepared meals that her family will always remember.
Sally is survived by her son, Stephen (Sherry) McChristy of Metamora, IL; two grandchildren: Ryan McChristy and Rhea (Scott) Wakefield, all of Quincy; four great-grandchildren: Bailey Renee and Tyson Allen McChristy and Evan Scott and Austin Michael Wakefield; a nephew, Jeff Haines; two nieces: Jackie Ann Beach and Janice VanMeter; and her Goddaughter, Barb Kirchgasler.
In addition to her husband, Sally was preceded in death by her parents; two sons: Richard and Keith McChristy; two brothers: Jack and Garrett Haines; and a nephew, Mark Haines.
Sally was cremated, as per her wishes. There will be no service.
