Sandra M. Huddleston – Hansen-Spear
Sandra M. Huddleston, age 82, of Quincy, died on Wednesday, December 11, 2024 at 9:25 a.m. in Sunset Home.
Sandra was born on June 3, 1942 in Quincy, the daughter of John and Dorothy Marie Wartick Dyer. On December 20, 1960 she married Lyndell Huddleston in Quincy. He preceded her in death on April 27, 2009.
Sandra was a 1960 graduate of Quincy High School, and she received her Associate’s degree from Gem City Business College in 1978.
Sandra worked in retail sales for much of her career, with positions at local businesses including: Oenning Glass, Bergner’s, Grant’s, and most recently Niemann’s. She truly never met a stranger and enjoyed talking to people, often asking, “Are you a Quincy boy/girl?” or “What’s your last name?” Sandra had a passion for history and genealogy, spending much of her time researching her family’s roots. She will be remembered for her friendly nature, curiosity about others, and the connections she made throughout her life.
Survivors include three sons: David (Chris) Huddleston, Sam (Marilyn) Huddleston, and Tim (Nancy) Huddleston; 15 grandchildren: Colt (Allison) Huddleston, Wyatt (Morgan) Huddleston, Patricia (Larry) Gibson, Brandon Huddleston, Zachary Reed, Taylor Huddleston, Isaiah Burgess, Colton Burgess, McKayla Huddleston, Brittany Basham, Chance Oja, and Jason, Jennifer, Janet (JD), and John Huddleston; eight great-grandchildren; a great-great-grandchild; and numerous aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, cousins, and other “adopted” family members.
In addition to her husband, Sandra was preceded in death by her parents; two sons: Ed and Jim Huddleston; a grandson, Billy Wilson; a great-granddaughter; and a sister, Donna Taute.
