Stephen A. “Steve” Kennedy – Hansen-Spear
Stephen “Steve” Kennedy, age 64, of Quincy, died on Thursday, June 12, 2025 at 12:50 p.m. in Blessing Hospital.
Steve was born on July 29, 1960 in Paris, IL, a son of Dorothy Cusick. He was raised by his parents, Frank and Dorothy Cusick Felgenhauer. On November16, 1999 he married Deborah Catlett in Las Vegas, NV. She survives.
Steve was a 1978 graduate of Paris High School in Paris, IL, and he received his Bachelor’s degree in Psychology from Quincy College.
Steve was a dedicated Republican and an active participant in local politics. He was a proud member and past president of the Quincy Tea Party, and he was an integral part of the Adams County Republicans, where he presided over the Monday morning breakfast meetings.
Outside of politics, Steve found joy in spending time outdoors, whether casting a line by the water, setting up camp under the stars, boating on the river, or taking his motorcycle out on the open road.
Above all, he cherished time spent with his family, which remained the center of his life.
In addition to his wife, survivors include two children: Justin Kennedy of Daytona Beach, FL and Jessica Kennedy of Quincy; two granddaughters: Jasmine and Amelia; four siblings: Ted Felgenhauer of Brieman, IN; Carla Wells of Paris, IL; Pam Felgenhauer of Brieman, IN; and Clint Felgenhauer of Brieman, IN.
Steve was preceded in death by his parents.
Visitation: 4:00 to 7:00 p.m. on Thursday, June 19, 2025 at Hansen-Spear Funeral Home.
Memorial Service: 11:00 a.m. on Friday, June 20, 2025 at Hansen-Spear Funeral Home.
