Tanya D’Arline Cunningham – Bienhoff Funeral Home

Funeral services for Tanya D’Arline Cunningham, 82, of Vandalia, will be at 1:00 PM Tuesday, December 10, 2024 at Bienhoff Funeral Home in Vandalia with pastor Glenn Forman officiating. Burial will follow in the Vandalia Cemetery.
Visitation will be Tuesday from 11:00 AM until the time of the service at the funeral home.
Mrs. Cunningham passed away at 9:00 AM Saturday, December 7, 2024 at Boone Hospital Center in Columbia.
She was born January 16, 1942 in rural Pike County the daughter of Bennett Clark “Ike” Straube and Shirley Maxine Livingston Straube.
Tanya married Tommy Reynolds “Tom” Cunningham on October 18, 1963 in Vandalia and he preceded her in death on May 30, 2024.
Survivors include: one son; Bob (Linda) Cunningham of Mexico, one daughter; Terri (Jim) Eastwood of Laddonia, two brothers; Mike (Linda) Straube of Hannibal and Dewey (Barb) Straube of Vandalia, one sister; Elaine Deters of St. Clement, brother-in-law; Clyde Oligschlaeger, sister-in-law; Kathee Straube, six grandchildren; Jacob Eastwood, Alexis (Austin) Marks, Josh Cunningham, Renae Owen, Ashlee Owen, and Emma Cunningham, three great grandchildren; Jackson Marks, Ahri Marks, and Syler Marks, along with several nieces, nephews, other relatives and a host of friends.
She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, brother Duane Straube, sister Cheryl Oligschlaeger, and brother-in-law Clem Deters.
Tanya was a lifetime area resident and 1959 graduate of Van-Far High School. She was a talented seamstress working in many area garment factories before taking a position at the Missouri Department of Corrections as a factory manager where she would retire in 2008. She served as a den mother for the cub scouts and also on the board of the Tri-County Community Pool. She was a huge supporter of her children and grandchildren’s sporting events and coached softball as well. She enjoyed bowling, playing bingo, jigsaw puzzles, collecting cherished teddies and beanie babies but most of all her family was her greatest joy in life.
Pallbearers will be Jacob Eastwood, Josh Cunningham, Austin Marks, Brandon Straube, Christopher Straube, and David Deters.
Honorary pallbearers will be Guy Willis, David Willis, June Willis, Fred Smith, Chris Straube, Lance Straube, Shannon Straube, Andy Straube, Travis Straube, Jerrid Woodhurst, Joe Ridgeway, Mike Bahr, and Jeni Fox.
